I’ve Been Having Dreams is a dual-sided narrative box that examines grief, rupture, and the fragile nature of intimacy. Constructed as a tactile portal, the front captures the sanctuary of a cherished friendship—a cozy living room and interwoven nest symbolizing shared warmth. The reverse reveals the hollow ache of sudden absence, unanswered questions, and the finality of death. Anchored by a found branch that honors our tie to nature and capacity for growth, the work transforms personal tragedy into a universal meditation on connections that end long before the final goodbye.

It all started when…

I traveled to Vermont in Summer 2022 for an artist retreat with Lorraine Glessner and Leah MacDonald to explore using encaustic in my work. I instantly fell in love with the medium and the Vermont landscape. When I returned to Vermont in Summer 2023 to study again with Lorraine and also Kelly Milukas, I was able to use my love for the medium to explore the landscape. These concepts translate to my home in The Northern Highlands of NJ.
